Later it was converted to an MG 1951 and an antitank gun 1950\/57.”]Das Infanteriewerk wurde 1940 vom F\u00fcs. Bat. 46 erbaut und mit zwei MG 1911 und einem leichten Maschinengewehr 1925 ausger\u00fcstet. Sp\u00e4ter wurde es umger\u00fcstet auf eine Bewaffnung mit einem MG 1951 und einer Panzerabwehrkanone 1950\/57.[\/simple_tooltip]<\/p>\n [simple_tooltip content=”Not far away was the ‘Letzi West’, a little curiousity. At ground level and only secured by a thin steel door. Rather a garage than an bunker.”]Nicht weit davon entfernt erwartet uns “Letzi West”, eine kleine Kuriosit\u00e4t. Ein ebenerdiger Bunker, nur mit einer d\u00fcnnen Stahlt\u00fcr gesichert. Eher “Garage” als Bunker.[\/simple_tooltip]<\/p>\n [simple_tooltip content=”After many interesting explanations from the attendant, our tour continued to the fortification ‘Birch’, a command post.”]Nach vielen interessanten Erkl\u00e4rungen vom Betreuer f\u00fchrte uns die Tour zur Festung “Birch”, einem Kommandoposten.[\/simple_tooltip]<\/p>\n [simple_tooltip content=”Sleeping quarter”]Das Schlafgemach[\/simple_tooltip]<\/p>\n [simple_tooltip content=”Next stop was at the fortification ‘Im Sagel’ which was eqipeed with a 12cm cannon 1882.”]N\u00e4chste Station war die Festung “Im Sagel”, die mit einer 12cm Kanone 1882 ausger\u00fcstet ist.[\/simple_tooltip]<\/p>\n [simple_tooltip content=”These cannons didn’t fire cartridges, propellant and projectile were seperated. Therefore, the same projectile could be fired with different amount of propellant, depending on the required range. They could fire not more than 2 or 3 times per minute.”]Mit diesen Kanonen wurde nicht wie heutzutage \u00fcblich, “fertige” Munition verschossen, sondern Ladung und Munition waren getrennte Einheiten. Dieselbe Munition konnte somit, je nach ben\u00f6tigter Reichweite, mit verschiedenen Ladungen abgeschossen werden. Mehr als ca. 2 bis 3 Schuss pro Minute lagen damit aber nicht drin.[\/simple_tooltip]<\/p>\n [simple_tooltip content=”Back on the fairground, it was time to eat. Nothing would be more appropriate than having a typical ‘Ch\u00e4sschnitte’ (a kind of cheese toast, like rarebit).”]Zur\u00fcck auf dem Festplatz musste auch mal was gegessen werden. Was liegt n\u00e4her, als eine feine Ch\u00e4sschnitte aus der Feldb\u00e4ckerei zu geniessen?[\/simple_tooltip]<\/p>\n [simple_tooltip content=”The time goes fast so we have to skip some places and focus on a few such as the transmittion bunker ‘Holzmatt’.”]Danach geht’s gleich weiter, die Zeit reicht leider nicht mehr, um alle Bunker zu besichtigen, darum treffen wir eine Auswahl, als n\u00e4chstes besuchen wir den \u00dcbermittlungsbunker “Holzmatt”.[\/simple_tooltip]<\/p>\n [simple_tooltip content=”This is a typical one, similar to those I have seen during my military service.
